Hey, It’s Been a Minute. A Quick Note from Our Bangalore Studio.
Hey everyone,
Noel here. It's been a little while, and I wanted to pull back the curtain and reconnect. I’m writing this from my desk at our sampling unit in Bangalore, surrounded by fabric rolls and the sound of a sewing machine humming in the next room. It's where every NOL idea starts, and I wanted to share a bit of that with you again.
Back to the Beginning: Why Bean Bags?
People ask me this all the time. The answer has two parts, and they’re both incredibly simple.
1. I just love making things. I’m a product designer at heart. I love the process of taking an idea, sketching it out, and turning it into something real you can use. I wanted to take my work and put it directly into people's homes.
2. Bean bags needed a serious upgrade. Let's be honest. For years, bean bags have been treated like an afterthought. They're meant for a young, trendy crowd—people with style, with opinions, with a strong sense of self. But the options were always so… boring. Plain colours, lazy shapes. I saw a huge gap. I wanted to build a piece of furniture that was as expressive and unique as the person sitting in it.
Made in Bangalore. And We Mean It.
This isn't just a marketing line. We design, cut, and stitch every single piece right here. When you get something from NOL, you’re not getting a box from some giant, faceless warehouse. You’re getting a piece that our small team has personally worked on.
It’s the only way we can get the details right. The feel of the fabric, the strength of the stitch, the way a print lines up—that stuff matters. It’s a craft, and we’re proud to do it here, where we can see it and touch it every day.
What's Next? Something for You.
We're always thinking about what's next. And for a while now, we've been quietly working on something special for the people who refuse to compromise—the ones who know exactly what they want but can't find it anywhere.
We’re building a brand new custom 3D platform over at www.design.nolbeanbags.in. It’s a space where you’re the designer. A tool for you to bring your own identity to life and create a piece that is entirely, unapologetically yours.
It’s not quite ready yet, but it’s coming soon. And we’re building it for you.
Our Door is Open. Seriously.
This whole post is really just an invitation. If you're in Bangalore and you’re curious about what we do, I mean it when I say you should stop by. You can see the quality of the fabrics, watch the team at work, and just have a chat.
No sales pitch, I promise. Just a real conversation about design and making cool things.
I’d love to show you what we're working on.
